HartAttack was created to be fun, loving, and quirky. It gives a home to students of all majors within the University of Hartford. We strive for musical excellence within a
variety of repertoire. Most importantly, we embrace our awkward.
A word from our co-founder
"HartAttack was founded in Spring 2010 when Luke Sherman and I decided that we wanted a co-ed group which welcomed undergraduate students from majors all over University of Hartford. (But really I just wanted to audition my friends).
Enter four engineers, an art student, a couple teachers, dos communications chicas and a cinema major. The group started out as somewhat of a silly playtime between friends. Its whimsical nature quickly gained an audience and in April 2010, was accepted into the UofH A Cappella coalition.
Within the group, all founding members played a role and leadership positions were developed organically. By the end of our first semester as a group, we had an established music director, president, business manager, social chair, graphic designer, and a whole lot of love for each other.
Looking at how far HartAttack has come in all their endeavours is one of my proudest and favorite activities. It is such a zany, firey, quirky, dork-tastic group of people no matter who graduates, and who begins the following year. They pride themselves on their "awkward stories" and their penguin mascot, Demetri. HartAttackers see the humor in all things, and they celebrate it."
